Sikar's Shekhawati region has a new addition to its medical education landscape. Prince Medical College and Hospital, situated on Jaipur Road in Sikar, has received approval from the National Medical Commission, under the Ministry of Health, Government of India, to admit 150 students into its MBBS programme for the 2026-27 academic session.

The approval means aspiring doctors will now be able to pursue their MBBS degree while training at Prince Hospital, a 700-bed facility that serves as the region's largest super-specialty and multi-specialty hospital. Officials say the college is equipped with modern laboratories, experienced faculty and updated teaching infrastructure, giving students from Rajasthan and other parts of the country a chance to access quality medical education without leaving the state.

Dr. Piyush Sunda, Chairman of the institution, said the college would give a new direction to medical education in the Shekhawati belt. He added that the move would help expand healthcare services in the region by increasing the number of specialist doctors available locally.

Admissions for the 2026-27 session are already open, and candidates interested in applying can do so through the prescribed admission process.
